lizards + drones

I didn’t expect any quarantine art to be good: Maybe work done during this time, sure, but nothing reflecting on quarantine itself. Wrong.
I love all three parts of 2 Lizards, written, directed, and edited by Orian Barki and Meriem Bennani. There is joy in these very short films, presented here in reverse chronological order. These lizards notice things.
Don’t drive! But definitely practice on the roof.
Here is something great that goes in the opposite direction, from Belle & Sebastian. The words were written by fans and then read out loud by Stuart Murdoch and Alessandra Lupo, a friend of the band. The drone footage of Glasgow is by Kenny MacLeod. This is the other side of quarantine: the voices in your head, the empty streets in front of you, neither ending.
